Our organic Genovese Basil is simply amazing. We have been growing it from our own heirloom seeds for the past 5 years. Freshly harvested every morning and grown without any chemicals you can smell and taste the difference straight away.
Basil is originally native to India and other tropical regions of Asia, having been cultivated there for more than 5,000 years. We mainly grow Sweet Basil which features prominently in the Italian cuisine. Other varieties include Thai Basil, Lemon Basil, and Holy Basil which are mainly used in Asian cuisine. Depending on the species and cultivar, the leaves may taste somewhat like anise, with a strong, pungent, often sweet smell.
