Our organic Onions are not dried as we don’t intend to store them for long periods of time so all the nutrients are still present and the taste and smell is simply amazing. The entire crop can be eaten. Not to be missed.
Onions are among the oldest of vegetables. They are known to have been grown in ancient Egypt more than 5,000 years ago, and it is likely they were eaten before then. The species is no longer found in the wild, but it may have originated in south-western Asia. The Romans took it with them as the empire extended into northern Europe and by the Middle Ages, it had become a staple vegetable all over Europe.
