Our Lebanese organic Romain Lettuce are simply amazing. They are an heirloom open variety and look, taste and feel completely different from supermarket offerings.
Lettuce Romain have been cultivated for thousands of years. They were first grown by the ancient Egyptians and were then spread by the Romans into the rest of Europe. Lettuce come in lots of different colours, shapes and sizes and we are growing a large selection of seasonal varieties all year round.
Romaine or Cos Lettuce is a variety which grows in a tall head of sturdy leaves with a firm rib down the center. The thick ribs on the outer leaves have a milky fluid which gives it its famous sweet-bitter taste.
