This is a wonderful Asian Celery variety with thin, pink stems. Slow grown in our farm made soil this tasty variety is bursting with nutrients. Our first attempt at his worked a treat. Perfect as crudite or for juicing.
In general our Celery is much thinner, less dense and has a very nice taste. It is believed that Celery was first cultivated by the ancient Egyptians, however it only became popular in Europe by the late 17th century.
Celery has numerous health benefits. It has blood pressure reducing properties and contains plant hormones that calm and soothe the central nervous system. The leaves are a great source of flavonoid antioxidants zeaxanthin, lutein and beta-carotene, which have antioxidant, cancer-protective and immune-boosting functions.
